Dr. Arun Vitthal Patil is a distinguished academic leader, researcher, and educator with an illustrious career spanning over 36 years in the field of Physics and Electronics. He currently serves as the Principal, Professor, and Head of the Department of Physics/Electronics at MGV’s Arts, Commerce & Science College, Manmad, affiliated with Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU), Pune. Since joining the institution in 1988, Dr. Patil has exemplified academic and administrative excellence, significantly contributing to the growth and quality of higher education in Maharashtra.
Dr. Patil is an approved Ph.D. guide in Physics and Electronic Science under SPPU, having successfully guided 11 Ph.D. scholars with 7 more currently pursuing research under his mentorship. He has authored 131 research papers in reputed national and international journals, reflecting his deep commitment to research and innovation. His scholarly contributions include 6 academic books and 5 granted patents in advanced areas of electronics and materials science. He has also completed two funded research projects—one major and one minor.
An invited speaker at 22 academic events, Dr. Patil has presented research at 39 national and international conferences, earning accolades such as the Best Paper Presentation Award in Busan, South Korea. His dedication to teaching was recognized with the prestigious Best Teacher Award in 2020 by Mahavir International, Nashik.
Dr. Patil actively contributes to academic policy and curriculum development through his membership in several Boards of Studies (BOS) in Physics and Electronics across universities and autonomous colleges. He serves on editorial boards and as a reviewer for various international journals, helping maintain academic standards globally. His international exposure includes academic visits to the USA, Italy, Switzerland, South Korea, Hong Kong, and Bangkok, fostering cross-border academic collaboration.
